Mourinhos Future Plans Post-Roma
Jose Mourinho has unveiled his intentions for the upcoming season, indicating his readiness to move forward after parting ways with Roma.
The 61-year-old strategist, hailing from Portugal, steered the Giallorossi for a tenure of 30 months, spanning from July 2021 to January of this year. During his tenure, he steered the club to clinch the Europa Conference League title and secured a spot in the Europa League final, albeit falling short against Sevilla in a penalty shootout.
The Mourinho era at Roma started promisingly; however, as the season progressed, cracks began to surface, culminating in his dismissal on January 16 after a disheartening 3-1 defeat to Milan on their turf.
The loss left Roma languishing at the ninth spot on the Serie A table. His replacement, Daniele De Rossi, wasted no time in making his mark in the capital, garnering praise for his early contributions.
During an interview at the Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix in Portimao, Mourinho, shed light on his plans post his Roma stint. He expressed that for the moment, there was zero news and that he didn't have a club, was free, but wanted to work. He assured that there was no need to worry, as he expressed his desire to return to work during the summer. He emphasized that his life was football, stating that he could coach anywhere without any problems.
Responding to inquiries about a potential return to the Portuguese league, Mourinho remained coy, stating that one should never say never, especially in football.
With the summer looming ahead, Mourinho finds himself with a plethora of options.
Speculations abound regarding his next destination, with possibilities ranging from leading the Portuguese and Brazilian national teams, taking the reins at Bayern Munich or Napoli, staging a comeback to the Premier League, or delving into the lucrative realm of Saudi Arabian football.
