Harry Kane's stellar performance propelled Bayern Munich into the quarterfinals of the Champions League, securing a 3-0 victory over Lazio on Tuesday. His remarkable goals, the 32nd and 33rd of the season, proved crucial for Bayern's comeback after losing the first leg 1-0 in Rome, securing a 3-1 aggregate win over two legs.

Expressing his satisfaction, Kane, hailed as the man of the match, reflected on the triumph, describing it as a perfect night for the team. The victory not only sealed Bayern's progression but also alleviated the pressure on their coach, Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel's departure at the end of the season had been announced prematurely by Bayern amidst a three-game losing streak, including the defeat in Rome.

Before the crucial match, Bayern's new sporting director, Max Eberl, assured that Tuchel would retain his position even in case of defeat. However, speculations were rife that a loss could accelerate the coach's exit. Sitting 10 points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, Bayern faced the prospect of a rare elimination in the Champions League, a scenario deemed unfortunate by Bayern president Herbert Hainer.

Kane opened the scoring in the 38th minute, seizing an opportunity after a close attempt by Ciro Immobile for Lazio. Thomas Müller's header set up Raphael Guerreiro, whose shot was deflected and met by Kane, who headed it past Ivan Provedel, the Lazio goalkeeper. Before halftime, Muller extended Bayern's lead with a well-placed header from Matthijs de Ligt's shot following a corner.

In the second half, Kane sealed the victory in the 66th minute, capitalizing on Leroy Sane's rebounded shot. His goal marked his sixth in the Champions League this season. Notably, Aleksandar Pavlovic, at just 19 years old, orchestrated Bayern's midfield with precise passes, while Joshua Kimmich provided defensive support by dropping back to right-back.

Sane, returning from a knee injury, played a pivotal role in Bayern's lineup after missing the previous match against Freiburg. In the dying moments, Serge Gnabry made his comeback from a thigh injury, entering the field for his first appearance since December.

Before kickoff, Bayern's Club No. 12 fan group orchestrated an impressive choreography, showcasing Munich's heraldic figure with a banner reading "In the name of the city." However, the match was not without controversy, as one Lazio supporter was arrested for making a Hitler salute, highlighting the need for vigilance against such unacceptable behavior.
